Extra-Curricular Involvement
Sauncy currently serves as a member of the WT Chorale, WT Collegiate Choir, and the WT Chamber Choir. She had the honor of performing with the WT Chorale at TMEA 2024. During her studies at WTAMU, Sauncy has been involved in WT Opera productions, including the role of "Amahl" in Gian Carlo Menotti's famous children's opera, Amahl and the Night Visitors and as "Handmirror" in Dominick Argento's Postcard from Morocco. Sauncy was a chorus member for TEXAS the Outdoor Musical during their 56th season, as well as recently portraying the role of "Blancaflor" in the Opera of the Plains original children's opera, Blancaflor.
Blancaflor
In April 20204, the Opera of the Plains debuted a new children's opera entitled Blancaflor. This original opera was performed for both Midland and Plainview ISD and was greatly enjoyed by the students who attended the shows.
WT Chorale TMEA 2024
In February of 2024, the WT Chorale had the honor of performing at the Texas Music Educators Association Convention in front of some of the best music professionals in the nation. This experience was filled with hard work that allowed for a wonderful concert.
WTAMU Christmas
Each December, West Texas A&M University collaborates with a local high school chorale program to create a magical Christmas experience. Combined with the WT Orchestra, it is a beautiful and meaningful experience to all those both on stage and in the audience.
Amahl and the Night Visitors
Gian Carlo Menotti's famous children's opera, Amahl and the Night Visitors, follows a young boy (portrayed here by Sauncy Reddick) and his mother as they are visited by the Three Wise Men on their way to visit baby Jesus. It is a one-act opera that is a great gateway into the world of opera.
Postcard from Morocco
Dominick Argento's opera Postcard from Morocco has a challenging score and an unexpected storyline. It follows a train car of strangers who end up in an alternate dimension being trapped by an evil being. Each character has a belonging that define them, such as "Handmirrior," portrayed here on the right by Sauncy Reddick.
TEXAS the Outdoor Musical
TEXAS the Outdoor Musical is an annual company production put on each summer in Palo Duro Canyon. It explores the history of West Texas, giving the audience an exciting experience of classic Americana.
