Experiential Learning

As an Educator, having teaching experiences is the best way to learn how to teach. Teaching music is a specific type of teaching that requires a specific classroom dynamic. I have found that my personal experiential learning has allowed me to align with my own teaching practices and become more comfortable as an educator.

WT Choral Program

Choir Member

Participating and contributing to the WT Choir Program has led to the most beneficial experiences I have had. From learning in a driven, passionate, and quality program has given me the framework for a successful and beneficial program, one that I intend to emulate in my own future program.

WT Collegiate Choir

Student Conductor

In the second semester of both my junior and senior year in the WT Choral Program, I was invited to conduct the Collegiate Choir. This involved running rehearsals, working the music, and conducting with confidence and clarity. The experience allowed me the opportunity to truly run a choral classroom and learn from mistakes.

WT All-State Choir Camp

Camp Counselor + Singer

In the summer of both 2023 and 2024, I aided the WT Choral Program in hosting  Texas high school students to help prepare them for the upcoming schoolyear's All-State competition. Four days are spent learning, working, and performing the repertoire chosen for the next competition.

Student Observations

Observer at Randall HS

Before a student can complete their clinical teaching, they must gain 40 hours of classroom observation. I was lucky enough to be placed at Randall High School and observed both typical classroom procedures as well as individual interactions and the "behind the scenes" of running a choral program.
